Technical Bench Supervisor

Department: Corry Lab
Location: Corry, PA

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the overall operations and performance of the laboratory services for Corry Memorial Hospital.  
  • Position is responsible for the direct oversight of technical and phlebotomy staff, approximately 10 FTEs.  
  • Laboratory Supervisor is the point of contact for hospital administration for any interactions involving the laboratory department. 
  • Position is directly responsible for ensuring clear and concise communication with ACL as well has hospital personnel. 
  • Laboratory supervisor must ensure that the laboratory provides quality and efficient services to the hospital, physicians and patients that we service.  
  • Responsible for the scheduling and supervision of the non-exempt laboratory personnel to ensure that quality, turnaround time and cost effective laboratory care are provided on a daily basis. 
  •  Accountable for quantity and quality of specimens handled and test results.

    Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry.
  • 6 years’ experience in a laboratory environment
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and is proficient in Microsoft Office productsas well as the ability to learn and navigate through various computer systems as applicable.
  • Must have the ability to establish work priorities for self and others and be able to efficiently multitask. Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements.
  • Ability to schedule and manage resources to meet laboratory goals and be able to interact professionally with others.
  • Demonstrates good organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is able to manage concerns of patients, physicians and employees in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise consistent, independent, sound judgment.
